Melrose - Critical Update
We want to communicate to you a couple of critical updates taking place with the expansion project of Guajome Park Primary Academy at 1132 N. Melrose.
The City of Vista has revoked our Building Use Permit based on a tenant complaint. We are in the process of negotiating with the City in order to continue construction as we speak. Given this, enrollment for the 2015-2016 academic school year may be jeopardized. Also, as we move forward to obtain a use permit to “simply” occupy the building, we will more than likely have to present our case to the City Planning Commission and City Council. It is critical that you voice is heard. We strongly encourage your presence at these hearings. Information regarding the dates, times and location of these meetings will be provided as soon as possible.
If you have not already done so, we would highly recommend you communicate to your council members as we are expecting some resistance in supporting this educational opportunity for our Guajome families.
You can contact your council representative and share your hope in establishing a quality education choice opportunity within our community and help service our families who are on our extensive waiting list using the following link: http://www.cityofvista.com/city-government/agendas-minutes
We thank you for your advocacy and support! For further information and updates, please contact Lindsay Arias, GPPA site administrator on how you can help.
GREAT JOB GUAJOME PARK ACADEMY
Our latest California Standards Test results are now available and our Academic Performance Index (API) is 860! Well done Guajome and thank you for all that you do! Additionally, our student achievement data will be posted in November.
This is a reminder that numbered parking spots are designated for staff. Please refrain from parking in numbered spots. Thank you.
