"Practical Tools for Positive Parenting"

Guajome Park Academy is happy to again offer Parent University workshops for Parents. All parents are invited to participate in Latino Family Literacy, College Awareness, and Positive Parenting through the Parenting Partners Workshop. “Workshops combine parenting and leadership skills that empower parents to become vital contributors to their children’s academic success.”

Classes Offered for GPA & GPPA Parents and Students

Day of the Week: Tuesdays

Class Dates: 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12

Time: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Snacks & Child Care Provided - Childcare in Room 3121
  • Parents receive a Certificate of Completion
  • Students whose parents attend will receive incentives

Parenting Partners (English - Room 3102) (Spanish - Room 3103)

Parenting Partners Workshops combine parenting and leadership skills that empower parents to become vital contributors to their children's academic success. This class is for parents only. "We will be discussing key parenting skill that will help our children be more successful".

GPA Classes

For Parents & Students - Middle School & High School Students

Latino Literacy School Program- College Awareness (Spanish only), Room 2131

This class is for both parents and students. This effective interactive parent-child program is designed to build early college awareness. Students are highly encouraged to join their parents! Chapter book is provided as a keepsake. 

GPPA Classes

For Parents and Students - Kindergarten - 5th grade

Latino Literacy (Spanish only), Room 

This class is for both parents and students. Latino Literacy is the family school program which uses books that are appropriate for reading levels grades 1-5. It teaches parents the importance of establishing a family reading routine with their children and helps both parents and school age children learn English vocabulary. A keepsake album is created in each session.
