Students interested in participating in sports this school year must have an updated physical, and parents must complete the athletic registration for the 25-26 school year. Students must be cleared to participate in sports by the Athletic Director.

What do I need to try out for a team?
Read the instructions for Athletic Registration. All athletes must have Athletic Clearance prior to participation.  Please print out a Physical Evaluation Form to take to your doctor's office.  The form must be signed, dated, and stamped by the doctor's office to have medical clearance for sports.    
Next, create an account off the Sportsnet clearance program on the Athletic website. Fill in the information and upload your physical for the Athletic Director to clear you for participation.

Do you need a certain grade point average to compete on a sports team?
Yes. All athletes must maintain a 2.0 grade point average with no more than one “F” or two “Ds” to remain academically eligible.  Furthermore, you must maintain satisfactory marks in citizenship.

Do all sports have tryouts?
No. Most sports offered do not have a cut policy unless student athlete safety is an issue or if athlete numbers become too high.

How do I find out about a specific sport?
All sports will hold pre-season meetings, and many sports have off-season programs.  These meetings and programs are publicized in ParentSquare as well as being posted around campus. Furthermore, feel free to contact the Athletic Director to get more information about a specific sport.

I transferred from another high school where I played sports.  What should I do?
You need to contact the Athletic Director in order to begin the process of being granted eligibility to compete as a Frog by the San Diego CIF office.

Does it cost anything to participate in sports?
Yes and no.  There is no “pay to play” policy allowed at Guajome, but in these economic times, fundraising is a must.  All programs will do some fundraising during the year that all team members are expected to participate in.

If I am not an athlete, how can I be involved?
Many programs use managers during their season to keep score, manage equipment, take pictures etc.  Contact the specific sport coach about being a team manager.

How can my parents get involved?
First and foremost, parents are needed to provide positive support at all games and other team functions. Many sports use “team parents” to help with pregame meals, concession stands, etc.  Contact the individual coach regarding how parents can get involved.
