A Personalized Education
Guajome Learning Centers (GLC) provides independent study and home-schooling education to K-12 students seeking a non-traditional experience that offers pacing and scheduling flexibility, as well as a wide range of A-G-aligned courses that appeal to a variety of interests and goals.
Students are provided with a credentialed teacher to support them in their online learning, opportunities for personalized feedback and support from instructors, tutors, or peers, and curriculum and textbooks free of charge. Our program consists of:
K-8 Home School
- In-person instruction twice a week in a classroom setting with other students
- Online meetings three times a week to engage students in live lessons virtually
- Calvert Learning, a project-based digital elementary curricula for English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Exact Path is a computer-based personalized program that provides additional math, reading, and language arts support based on valid and reliable assessment data.
6-8 Independent Study
- In-person instruction twice a week in a classroom setting with other students
- Daily office hours
- Edmentum, a standards-based online curriculum for English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Science, and a variety of Electives
- Exact Path is a computer-based personalized program that provides additional math, reading, and language arts support based on valid and reliable assessment data.
9-12 Independent Study
- In-person meetings with a credentialed teacher twice a week on campus
- Office hours or meetings by appointment for extra support
- Options to take some classes on the main campus
- Edmentum, a standards-based online curriculum including courses that meet A-G requirements
- Exact Path is a computer-based personalized program that provides additional math, reading, and language arts support based on valid and reliable assessment data.
- Students grades 9- 12 have the opportunity to attend up to 2 in-seat classes on the main campus at Guajome Park Academy.
Key Program Requirements
Students enrolled in the GLC program are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Attend two weekly in-person teacher check-ins, each lasting one hour.
- Complete 240 minutes of schoolwork each day and maintain an accurate daily attendance log. Failure to meet attendance requirements may result in removal from the GLC program.
- Stay current in all classes by completing and submitting assignments independently and on time.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and personal responsibility by completing daily coursework and accurately logging attendance.
- Parents/guardians are expected to actively monitor their student's academic progress, ensure work is completed and attendance requirements are met, maintain communication with teachers, and regularly check email for important updates.

Enrichment Opportunities
GLC students have the opportunity to participate in activities on the main Guajome Park Academy campus, including:
- Student Clubs
- Middle & High School Athletics
- Ballet Folklórico
- Activities such as school dances, movie nights, & drama and music performances
- Campus events such as Stakeholder's Day, Guajome Day Parade, Senior events
