First page of the PDF file: cp-10-reasons-poster-en

The IBCP is a unique programme that allows students to focus on potential career opportunities, but with the academic distinction of the IB, preparing students for college as well as a specific career focus.

As one of the first five authorized IBCP schools in California, GPA developed an impactful program, partnering with industry-leading professionals and higher education institutions locally to be able to offer these career pathways for our students.

Students within the IBCP are eligible to earn an IBCP Certificate. Certificate candidates are required to study two IB subjects that align with their career-related study. In addition, certificate candidates must complete the required core elements listed below. In addition to the core, students must complete two years of a career-related study. IB courses vary in length from one to two years. Student performance and achievement are assessed using international standards.

University Recognition

Higher education institutions value the CP for the wide range of skills and experiences it develops in students.

Academic Strength

CP students complete a minimum of two internationally recognized IB courses. The CP core further develops the academic skills of students through its four components.

International Perspective

CP students are encouraged to view aspects of their studies in a broad, global context. They are challenged to become internationally minded and culturally aware.

Intercultural Learning

Intercultural learning is a priority within the CP. Students move to a position of advocacy as they become more aware of their own culture and that of others.

An Ethical Education

The CP core provides a major opportunity for ethical education involving principles, attitudes, and codes of behavior.

External Validation

The CP validates both achievement and academic integrity in student performance through its examination and moderation process.

Research and Writing Skills

CP students complete a reflective project on an ethical dilemma associated with their career-related studies. The reflective project provides excellent preparation and experience for the type of undergraduate research required for further and higher education.
